Alexander Maldonado

CEO & Founder

Alexander Maldonado is the Founder, President, and CEO of The Unfinished Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing scholarships, resources, and community support to individuals in recovery and families impacted by addiction.

His work is rooted in lived experience and a genuine desire to give back what was freely given to him. After getting sober in his late 20s, Alexander began rebuilding his life with a new perspective—one grounded in growth, purpose, and the belief that change is possible for anyone willing to keep showing up.

In his 30s, he made the decision to return to school and is currently completing his Associate of Arts degree at Tarrant County College with a 4.0 GPA. He plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work, with the goal of becoming a licensed therapist and continuing to serve others in a deeper capacity.

Alexander has been actively involved with community-focused agencies across Tarrant County, supporting youth development, recovery initiatives, and family engagement efforts. He has served as Chair for the Texas Conference for Young People in Recovery from 2024 to 2025 and as the Spanish Inclusion Chair for the International Conference of Young People in Recovery (ICYPAA) in 2024. Through these roles, he has gained extensive experience in planning large-scale events, coordinating fundraising efforts, and creating more inclusive spaces within the recovery community.

He currently serves as the Temporary Compliance Officer for The Unfinished Foundation, overseeing governance, accountability, and ethical operations as the organization continues to grow.

Alexander does not view leadership as a title, but as a responsibility to show up, to serve, and to meet people where they are. Whether locally or beyond, he is committed to being of service wherever he is needed.

At the core of his work is a simple belief: that no story is ever finished. Every day is another opportunity to grow, to try again, and to become better than the day before. Sobriety has given him a new outlook on life, one he continues to pursue with gratitude and determination.

He leads with the belief that recovery has no barriers and that everyone qualifies—creating spaces where individuals are welcomed, included, and given the opportunity to move forward regardless of their background or circumstances.

Through The Unfinished Foundation, Alexander is focused on creating real opportunities for individuals in recovery and families impacted by addiction. His work is guided by the belief that nobody gets left behind and that your past does not define you, it prepares you for what is yet to come.
