I’m Destinye Guevara; the wife to Alex, the mom of 4 living babes, 1 angel boy, a few chosen babes, and grandma to Wryn and Shepard. My family and friends are at the center of everything that I do. When I’m not loving on my kids; you can find me having tea with my friends, being creative with my hands, in the kitchen, or singing barefoot in my backyard.
I’ve lived on Fort Worth my whole life; graduating from Western Hills High School and then TCC (too many years ago to count).
My husband and I own and operate a small mental health private practice on the north-side of Ft. Worth near the Stockyards. Mental wellness, recovery, and helping people feel seen, supported, and loved are close to my heart. Connection is the key to my heart.
The Unfinished Foundation is incredibly personal to me. I was introduced to the idea through the Founder Alexander, who was like a brother figure to my son, Karsen.
On November 14, 2023, Karsen lost his battle with addiction and passed away from fentanyl.
I knew I couldn’t let his story end there.
Since then, my healing and my story has become about making sure his life—and even his death—have purpose. If sharing our story or supporting even one person helps them choose recovery, then I’ll keep sharing it every chance I get. I do it in honor of my boy. I want his story to be one of hope, compassion, and redemption.
Unfinished has a scholarship started in my son’s name and I don’t take that lightly. My mission will be to meet this/our community in a place of authenticity and desire; to build funds AND make impacts in the name of my boy.
Our story isn’t over. We get to write the ending. The one where recovery and grace is possible.
We are better together!
